For producing the crimson-coloured sticky rice, the brilliant purple flesh with the ripe gac fruit is employed. Turmeric is used to make the yellow sticky rice, magenta plant for purple, the ash of burned ginger leaves for black, and the pandan leaf for eco-friendly. The glutinous rice is soaked in water mixed with the above mentioned components.
